Victorian O/r's Lance cap plate, 5th Royal Irish Lancer's circa 1858-85.
Scarce die stamped brass triangular fluted plate bearing the Royal arms over the maid of Erin harp.
Battle honours to Malplaquet.
Raised in 1858 and adopted the honours of the old 5th Royal Irish dragoons (disbanded 1799).
