To SS-Rottenfuhrer Paul Franke who was recalled to military service in 1943, then transferred to SS-Totenkopf wachbattalion Sachsenhausen, in June 1944, he was given the rank of SS-Sturmmann on his transfer to the SS-T, then promoted to SS-Rottenfuhrer on 17th Oct 1944. Franke survived the war to be taken prisoner by the US Inf regt 385th. with a stamp in his wehrpass stating he's a non Wehrmacht POW.
