To Josef Rossler who started his military career in the Luftwaffe signals as a Obergefreiter, then a short period in a Luftwaffe wachtbattalion,before being redeployed to the Concentration camp at Mittelbau with the rank of SS-Rottenfuhrer.Mittelbau started out as a sub camp of Buchenwald, and later became its own concentration camp set into the Kohnstein hill and was used to house and develop the V1 and V2 flying bombs. Rossler stayed here until the end of 1944. Then in 1945 transferred to SS-Totenkopf wachtbattalion Sachsenhausen.
